2 Many DJs / Thursday April 26th / Caprice / Vancouver
2 Many DJs are coming to vancouver on Thursday, April 26th at Caprice. Tickets are 25$ in advance, $30 soon after. This is going to be a sick show. I will be going.
Tickets are available at clubzone. more info 2 MANY DJ'S are two belgian brothers : Stephen and David Dewaele Stephen Dewaele Born 4 July 1970, living in Ghent (Belgium). Went to boarding school with his younger brother where they were looked upon as a couple of outsiders. He quickly developed his visual talents by becoming a professional film director (commercial, comedie series, videos for Soulwax singles) David Dewaele Born 24 May 1975, living in Ghent. David has more production skills and has made numerous remixes together with his brother for bands like Zita Swoon (Disco!), dEUS (Everybody's weird), etc. He also produced two singles by the band Das Pop, including their latest single Electronica for Lovers and the enchanting The Little Boy Zaki Stephen and David Dewaele are the sons of Belgian 60s DJ called Zaki. Zaki also did children's programs and later on, he kept himself busy doing gameshows and so on. By being a radio DJ, he has influenced his sons' musical appetite and the young brothers had the opportunity to get to know lots of different music and bands thanks to their dad's record collection. Resume - They used to Present together with his brother @lter 8, an alternative music program on the totally un-alternative Belgian music channel TMF (or Too Many Fakers, as they like to name it). - And they also had their weekly hour of madness on Studio Brussel. Each Saturday they used to play music in their program Hank the DJ. On autumn 2001, they had their show, Hang the DJ on Studio Brussel on Friday evenings. - During their DJ sets, they manage to get literary everyone dancing, thanks to a mixture of new techno music like the Chemical Brothers or the Prodigy and old songs by Michael Jackson, Prince and many others. 2 many dj's or soulwax ? Stephen and David were respectively singer and guitarist in a rock band called SOULWAX. They used to DJ as SOULWAX or THE FLYING DEWAELE BROTHERS or the FUCKING DEWAELE BROTHERS. They did all their remixes and "mash-ups" or "bootlegs" (the music of a track vs. the voice of another) under the name of SOULWAX. They are very popular in Belgium and England as SOULWAX. Since the album is out, they found another name for their DJ shows : 2 MANY DJ'S... Now, in order to avoid confusion about names, i consider : - SOULWAX is their musician name (rock band and remixes) - 2 MANY DJ'S is their DJ name. 2 many DJ's website |

Checked out this party last year in Tokyo, Japan. It cost me about twice as much, so for $25, you can't go wrong. Their music wasn't especially cutting edge, mostly Electro Mash-ups and that sort of stuff.
Once you get going though, there is no stopping, this show creeps up on ya. |

Beware
They played in Toronto on Friday and there were serious complications... apparently they showed up, played a five minute intro, got in a fight on stage in front of everyone and took off...
I know this isn't their usual fare, in fact, i hear they absolutely kick ass everywhere they go... i just wanted to let you guys know what went down here. Everyone is very very pissed off about the whole thing... here is a review thread: Not Enough DJs - Toronto Review I'm sure the Vancity gig will be hot tho!!!! |
