Well I hope all this is not a stupid prank. If its not I will def be there as I have not seen Tiesto yet. And hate as many of you do, Tiesto was one of the first DJ's I listened to. His music may not be quite my cup of tea anymore, but I must see him live at least once.

two reasons why this show will most likely happen:
tiesto is playing in alberta on august 24, a dude i know who works for nettwerk didnt deny it

the fact that there is no mention of the show on tiesto's website doesnt mean anything because his schedule that far ahead hasnt even been posted there

I think it will be a spectacular show (if it does happen) as it always is..

People hate on tiesto becuase he isnt worth what he is. No DJ or producer with skill as bland as his deserves to open for the olympics. This city is full of DJ's that could mix his tunes better than him on the fly, that don't even play trance!

The guy gets paid like a rockstar for doing something many can do but dont get the recognition they deserve.

Rhetorically speaking, how many times have you heard/seen Tiesto do anything other than just 'play tunes' ?

well, he's not #1 anymore, but thats besides the point :D

love him or hate him, this will probably be one of the better shows in vancouver, or at least i'm hoping it will be considering the venue and the artist involved. sure the crowd will be sketchy, the sound far too loud and completely distorted, but it will still be fun

Im not expecting him to do any of that. Im expecting him to do something other than just playing tracks and mixing safely that requires at least a bit of technical skill. Its been a long time since Ive listened to a Tiesto mix, but I can say Ive never ever heard more than 2 sources of audio. He isn't a risk taker, and IMO, if he costs 10-20k (or however much, I don't know, Ive never looked into it) to book, his name shouldn't be the only thing that sells him.

That ranking system is based on record sales, popularity, and revenue.... not skill.

But hey, what do I know.... My opinion is biased becuase first off, Im jaded... 2nd of all, I DJ and I cant help but judge and examine everything I hear coming from a CD player or turntable. Its what I do, and it comes as natural to me as shaving or going to work in the morning.

So, my question for you is..... why do all these amazing acts like Z-Trip, Krafty Kuts, Jazzy Jeff, Mike Relm (anyone really) cost only a fraction of Tiesto rate to book? Simple, they aren't douches.

I wonder if Tiesto still has anything to do with the black hole record shop? Who am I kidding.... who needs that shit when your riiiiiiiich biiiaaaaatch!

To add; I wasn't bashing.. I was giving my .02c to HardStyle as to why there is Tiesto hate.

Dont get me wrong, Im not hating on the guy... He and his music have influenced me HUGELY over the years.., I just see him for what he is now... a marketing GENIUS, not a music god.

ive listened to elements of life 3 times so far. does it deserve to be one of the best sellers in europe? nop.but what tiesto gets is for all he has done for trance music earlier.

yes this event is real, even says so on his website.
no tickets aren't on sale yet and i don't believe they will be sold through ticketmaster either.

Well, now that its confirmed for GM place, Ive got pre-sales.. nosebleed only... $399.00 + s/c

If you want special 'Tiesto box seats' just make sure you get there really early and park yourself underneath his DJ booth... I hear the view is great from down there!
