London's latest club extraordinaire boombox teams up with forward-thinking parisian label Kitsuné for an exciting dj mix project. it was only a matter of time before the audacious boombox night, which has brought back dressing-up and fun on the dancefloor, would push its connection further with the imaginative franco-japanese imprint that's breaking all the rules. the unusual music / fashion axis shared by both is unquestionably at the heart of this solid bond. from its inception, boombox has established strong links with the fashion world (designers as dj guests, shows' soundtracks and parties, magazines and websites). and as well as releasing records by some of the hottest names around, it's well known Kitsuné also a stylish clothes label currently exploding in japan. the label's head honchos gildas and masaya have been regulars on the decks at the hoxton-based club run by richard mortimer since his previous popular venture family. boombox's main resident dj (and french ex-pat) jerry bouthier has long helped establishing bridges with the parisian gang, frequently sharing the bill with the Kitsuné djs in paris and abroad and nurturing a similar passionate fondness for all things fusing rock, electro, rave and everything else in between. the track listing includes the exclusive come back from house legends s'express, digitalism, daft punk, simian mobile disco, the glimmers and princess superstar, siobhan donaghy (ex sugababes), feist, rex the dog, riot in belgium, chromeo (guns n' bombs remix) and new comers big face, revolte, the young punx and more. the mix includes the work of boombox's in-house photographer alistair allan from dirtydirty.dancing.com - and this is a fabulous insight of what happens at boombox every sunday.

Kitsune has been my favourite label for like a year now.

I really love that Guns N' Bombs remix of Fancy Footwork. It's on the Chromeo double 10" EP that came out just before the new album. Love the part about halfway through where they start busting out the oldschool rave techno sounds, like from '89-91... THE RAVE REVIVAL IS HERE!
