changsta has a little shameless behaviour in the past
what would u like to see for an electronic deejay?

I am more a hip hop deejay myself, and deejay right now, just once a week...

I just started to dig some more into electronica, as I meet a lot of ravers for some reason...and they are always talkin about how there are not enough raves...

The only deejays i know of are eddie halliwell, icey, and tiesto, and some names i dont know because i downloaded the remix of an r&b song

so what are some deejays or acts you want to see at a rave? what do you want at a rave?(like lights, etc.)how much do you usually pay for a ticket, and what do you think is more fair? would you entertain an idea like summer breaks where they had hip hop acts with electronica? What makes you go to a certain rave over the other? What are some good times of the year for a rave?

I have only been to 2 raves, and they have been kind of new...

- Warehouse with cool nooks and crannies... not just some big cube box space with poor ventilation
- Lighting rig is one thing, but large structures hanging from ceilings and set up around the edges is a big plus. Raves are supposed to be intense audio-visual experiences, not just some kids at the front with a stereo
- Variety of music. Cannot stress this enough. I can even handle speed garage at a party as long as you only kept to an hour of it. If it's a one-stage show, mix it up a bit. Start off with some funky house, into some more bumping electroclash, moving into breaks, into techno, and trance just after the sun comes up. Or dnb at 5am. Or whatever. Just keep the mix going. Nothing more annoying IMO than 8 hours of the same damn beat and the same damn breakdowns and the same track design. Variety is key.
- Make sure your crowd can be discreet. Hanging outside a probably sketchy part of town at 3 o'clock in the morning because you got busted up by the cops for whatever reason (noise complaints, people hanging around outside, flyer found on a junior high schoolyard, etc.). It used to be a thing that the city wanted to crack down on raves, but these days as long as you're not giving them a reason to bust it you could go all night.
- booze is nice but it's generally smart to have a no-bottles policy. If you want to hand out cups so people can carry their booze around and leave their bottles in their bags, even better.
- First. Aid. Staff. Sober all night.

Haha! This is kind of odd, ain'it. Normally someone exhibiting such newbish traits are chewed up and spit back out within 10 posts. Maybe FnK's mellowin' out in its old age.

Any of those names would pull me to a show, almost guaranteed. But honestly, the show is a lot more important to me than the DJ. Put a quality effort in putting on the show (effort, not necessarily money, though that can make it easier) and you'll get a true rave experience. Too many local promoters think that all it takes is a stereo and a warehouse when in reality it's supposed to be an entire psychedelic experience (and I'm not just talking about the drugs).

Since when did Fnk care about the scene? I thought it was just random pot shots with rave talk.

While he's new to it, he's not being a dink or stupid about it. Appreciation for someone who gets feedback from the scene before trying to jump into it, instead of coming out of nowhere and saying that he's going to REVOLUTIONIZE the scene with his BRILLIANT IDEAS of bringing PLUR BACK and more lofty philisophical bs like that, and then toss aside any type of feedback he gets because the people providing it DON'T GET what he's trying to do.

He just wants to throw a party by the looks of it. What's to hate?

I wasn't hating as much as being surprised and alittle taken aback. I remember about six months ago, some new fella got destroyed by everyone .
