or spend thousands of dollards on a number of hardware /software packages depending on what you want or can afford. I'm using the new H-D system and very happy with it. check it all out at www.digidesign.com |

Addy, what are planning to do? If your planning to mix a few tracks for a movie or even for a dance routine, then I recommend you check out Sonice Foundry Soundforge or Cakewalk.
Protools is a really powerful program and mosty likely not what u need for your project. Also its better on the mac. ;-) |

.
I use the Digi001 system, which runs on the ProTools LE software. It's essentialy identical to the TDM software interface, except you can only have a maximum of 32 tracks, and uses RTAS plugins instead of TDM. From what I know about using it for the past few years, it requires the 001 hardware to function properly with 8 inputs and outputs. The 001 system is also power hungry, meaning it eats up a lot of your computer's processing power, so use it on a Mac if anything. I am personaly going to get a MOTU 2408mkIII, a new G4 1Ghz machine and run Logic 5.4 on it pretty soon. The new version of Logic uses apple's new 'audio unit' codec which is super efficient, leaving lots and lots of power to run those 40+ tracks with 30 plugins on top. Anyways - You know, I've been visiting this nice little board for some time now, and I don't even know what scene it hails from... Where are y'all at, and how's the scene out there? Are there many producers there? Peace, Grant B www.therecordbin.com . |
