I hear ya on that one. used to play hardcore & throw parties from 93' to end of 98' when I lived in the UK Which was definitely the golden age of Hardcore. Anything from 99' to 2005 is just fodder IMO so my style progressed into other genres, then around end of 2005 a few producers caught my attention (Stormtrooper, Al Twisted, Joey Riot, UFO, Kevin Energy & a few others) so started getting back into the new stuff & came up with the Double Drop alias (Not the name I went under back in the day)
