Something thats opened my eyes a little
Per Eddie Halliwell, MixMag "The Slacker's Guide to DJing":
"You can learn to beat-match prety quickly, sometimes after just one day. But that doesn't mean you can DJ. It took me about six years. Do parties for a laugh, but don't take the first serious break you get. Wait until you're as confident as you can be, then approach the club." |

yah theres liek 2 different approaches to it. get playing out asap and get some experience dealing with a crowd and learning to mix well under pressure and maybe slowly developing your sound....
or... some people feel its best to spin in your room for 3 years until youre liek "uber dj 6000" and people will shit themsleves the first time they here you. only problem with that is that youre stuck in your room for 3 years ;) |

also the good thing with "Uber dj 6000" is that you already gotta really diverse track selection going on thats dated so you can pull out the gems here and there... Plus the music your playing is a little more mature than say the kid who is playing out and just started last year.
