New Music West
Anyone heard of this? It's an festival held around Vancouver every year promoting awide range of music. It's also good for artists looking for more exposure. It is taking place from May 21-25 and wristbands usually get you into most of the shows for the whole 5 days.
I volunteered to help out for it last year and it was great. I got to meet some Canadian artists and George Stroumboloupolous (*swoon*) and I was let into shows for free. If you want to read more about it their website is www.newmusicwest.com

Their office thing was in the same building where I worked this summer... I remember finding a box with some of the wristbands in it in the basement area(all the companies in the building shared the same basement room) and thinking "Sweet! A free paty!" Then I found out it had happend like a month beforehand (probably why they had a box with wristbands in the basement to begin with)

yeah, the new music west hq is in my workbuilding. i'll go get a flyer or magazine checking out what's going to be going on around town.
unfortunately, i don't have much time to go volunteer. maybe i'll be going to some shows.
