Too old to make music??? That's just stupid.
If you can still make a good track then go for it, who cares how old you are. What is their reasoning behind their thoughts? That they can't iodentify with the kids who are buying their music? As an artist ages so do the fans that grew up listening to him/her so maybe they appreciate that someone they are familiar with is still around. Tell these people on your other forums that they're dumb. Don't give them an explanation... make it simple. Hi. You're dumb. Thanx. Bye. |

age isn't a factor at all. my dads 51 and hes the lead singer of his band... they have i guess you can call it "resident" at a restaurant/pub and they play there 3 days a week and every night is a sold out show. music is for everyone and its what they produce. they can attract the younger crowd, mid aged crowd and the older crowd. its whatever sounds good.... and like matt said.. if theres a 90 year old grandma that throws down wicked beats...im all for it.

I don't think that you can ever be too old to be making music. As said, most artists (and people) will grow and progress over time, and one would like to think that their music would reflect that growth. Granted, it may not appeal to a mass market of 15 year olds, but the point isn't whether it can appeal to that one group of people.
That said, it seems that some artists do a better job of growing older than others. I think the Rolling Stones look silly prancing around stage at 50 or 60+ yeards of age, but by the same token Erc Clapton doesn't seem out of place in the way he performs. Heck, even Bowie still has something f an edge to himself despite his age. If B.Spears or the Spice Girls were still making 'teeny bopper' music in 20 years then yeah, that would look quite laughable. But c'mon, who really expects either of them to be anything more than a footnote in the music marketing handbook of the future anyways? |
