which is the "A" side?

I hate it when a record info side just has

Side A: XXXXX
Side B: XXXXX

and then doesn't state which side is A or B.

Is the Logo side always A? I've seen some massive tunes on the info side, which I always assumed was the B side.

if you look at the catalogue #, which is usually pressed in between the run-out grooves at the center of the vinyl, it usually says which is the a and b
