Totally. It's more novelty than anything else... One thing that I do thnk is sweet is that you dont need to open up the turntable to change the pitch control. If the M3Ds were like that I would've saved like $70 for repairs when my previous pitch control got soaked in beer...
+/- 16 pitch? Fuck I dont remember the last time I went past +/- 6 on my techs, but then again thats just me. Also I can also see it being very hard to get songs matched on +/- 16 setting as it becomes twice as sensitive, thus harder to find the right setting. 950 wouldnt be worth it for any turntable... Why dont technics just make a new table at the same pricereange as MK2/M3Ds but with increased torque and maybe some other useful features like some other new tables have. Other companies are starting to catch up to and even surpass techs so why aren't panasonic (who owns technics) doing something to match or pass competition? |

for that much cash i wanna see a laser reading one that reads up top with a tonearm that doesnt wear out rare rekkids. and one that can have an auto cue and loop function... with a tone matching fader... and the pitch fader can adjust the beats to millionth.... damn that would be hot. definetly worth 950 us =p |

they're getting closer... i think this version is a misfire though. all Techs need to do is ape a couple of TTX features and they'll be kings again.
if a tech comes out with selectable pitch so that you can do the regular 8 then switch it higher for special mixes, more torque, and mad adjustable brakes, it'll be king again. |
