*cakewalk*
does anyone have the program "cakewalk" or anything like it?
as in any program that i can take existing music and import it into the program and record over it. i'm trying to scam out of having to buy the (some) program. or if you don't have cakewalk, or don't like it, let me know what you have, and if and why it's better. or just why you like it better. thx in advance. |

cool edit isn't better, but it's easier to pirate - and by easier i mean you can actually pirate it.
in theory, you can yoink a copy of SONAR (El Cakewalk Del New n' Shiny) but good luck finding someone whose cold dead hands you can pry it from. i've been trying for eight goddamn years. EIGHT YEARS! i think i'm gonna just break down and buy it, it's the best for pc. i would say that the sketchy PC port of ProTools is the best, but it only works in Win16 (9x and Me) so to those of us whose use 2K and XP are screwed out of that one. bah! there is one thing that can make life easier for you though... find a cheap copy of Cakewalk 9 that a music shop has left over and buy it (it'll be ridiculously cheap) then go online and order the latest version of SONAR as an upgrade from Cakewalk 9, it'll only be about $250 US instead of the godly sum they usually charge. in the meantime, send me an email and i'll hook you up with a fully functioning demo of SONAR and uh... i will not in any way shape or form supply you with a program that extends the demo period. |
