Cheeze
wtf is the actual definition of cheeze?
i could say that cheeze is really corny, either just ridiculously happy, or just a really poor attempts to be funky shit. speed garage is definetly seriosuly cheezy to me.... that speed garage bassline constantly gives me cheezy vibes. some hard house gives me the cheezy vibes as well with their really strange bouncy basslines and highly sped up fucked up vocals. cheezy vibes seem like more of a feeling that makes me cringe and get seriously agitated... haha but is it cheeze thats annoying me? i really cant come to a conclusion of what cheeze specifically is... any thoughts? |

IMO
tidy trax and similar donk-ish UKHH = bad cheese... they take themselves seriously, without realizing how stupid their music is. Alot of HHC = good cheese... ie completely over the top.. they know their music is stupid and sickeningly happy, and they revel in it. I think most cheesy music can fall into those 2 categories... those who know they're stupid, and those who don't. |

I really dont like cheese. I guess the definitions subjective like you said, cuz I know alot of people who consider most trance cheesy (I'm not talking about the obviously cheesy shit), yet I dont.
So yeah: Florida breaks, Speed Garage, happy hardcore, UKHH, most disco house and jump up is what I'd consider cheesy... =P |

hehehe, cheese.
For cheese trance, I would say a really dumb bassline, and a melody in a major key with a really simple "happy" note pattern. DJ Sammy - Heaven, and most Ian van Dahl would be a good example =P Cheese prog doesn't really exist, at least not as far as I've heard, usually it's just boring instead, heh. |
