New Cartridges
I'm looking to get some new cartridges because so often the ones most people have during my sound bookings SUCK and are dead. Twice I had times that the needles on one of the decks where so fucked the sound would only come out of 1 side of the PA if the DJ was using that deck.
So what's a good set of cartridges I should get, that don't cost too much to replace the stylus semi-often? and no, I don't want any thing for scratching, cause a scratch DJs should have his own for gig. |

They don't make the bananas anymore. Haven't for years....there was a reason they were so cheap, and people still weren't buying them. |

they're cheap, stable, and they'll take a beating... i have yet to see a downside from owning them. |

nice thanks guys...
btw why can not DJ just use CD's,,, even a 128kbps mp3 file from a good rip sounds about the same as a record,,, and don't get me going with a well mastered CD. hehehe Just Joking. I like to pick the Digital VS analog argument all the time,,, my bad. |

520sk are shit IMO and although I'm not positive i think Sasha uses Ortofon Concorde DJ, or Shure M35X...regardless...you should find something specific for your style...i heard you drop at pound once so i would suggest something with a lot of low end response (for dnb) so go with Shure SC35C or M447's if u scratch. If you like concorde style, anything off the Ortofon line is sick...but they should be modified to prevent warping the connecting pins in your tonearm. booya. |
