Werd. I've seen a fair amount of MC's out here and Dawson definately stacks up with the best of the best. Bridget still gets her own class though.

Dawsons good but there's better. I think as a party host he can hold his own but not in a battle.

is rectal assassin actually sounding good now?

I mean, he's always had a pretty good sense of rhythm, but he's also never known when to shut up, and has (had) a nasty habit of turning his mic up WAAY too loud.

and, individual MCs aside, there's something about layering raw unprocessed vocals over nicely produced, mastered dnb that sounds completely gawd awful to me.

what about Graham and Brian...? Furthermore, there is a ton of new talent running around this city...with new energy, and skills...we need to see these guys out more and we need to make it happen by supporting them when they do...

Who's all the new MC talent?

As far as Dawson goes he's really gotten a LOT better than back in the day. He's played a lot of clubs and played a lot with Jungle Souldier which has been very good experience. Last time I heard him he didn't over do it and never said a thing while a vocal was playing.

Still, no matter how much skills an MC has, I still DJ setups would include ...

1) a proper wireless headphone monitoring system
2) some sort of vocal processing box (compression/eq/maybe aural excitement and reverb too)

...if they're planning on having an MC perform on it.

i like the tone of dawson's voice when he mc's.
and at rollin' he had some decent shit to spit.

who was the other mc at rollin' that took a crack at it?
he wasn't loud enough, but i would have liked to have actually HEARD what he was saying. from what i barely caught it sounded not half bad.

hes definetly better than the first time i saw him mc.... jungle for dummies it was... there were wayyy too many mcs at that party... or was it just mc groove just constantly yelling in the mic... cant remember but yeah hes come a long way letts just keep it at that

mc effect was probably the best mc here in vancouver i've seen.... his skills are pretty standard for mcs but he knows how to keep the place entertained with a good vibe... cracks jokes here and there and i guess he makes the show of the dj more entertaining.
