haha i dunno who im more stoked for.... andy c or j majik.... andy c is an awesome dj and his production is pretty dope.... he knows how to make some nice sounding basslines that arnt too deep or loud but more so feel good basslines.... and theyre awasome dancefloor tunes. his hookups for tracks are probably the most sought after ones in all of drum and bass and he sets the big uk anthems. his mixing skills are totally original and makes him definetly one of the absolute best drum and bass djs in the world. i'll have to admit andy c and dieselboy is a hard toss up on deciding who is the doper dj.... up front uk massive anthem rinse out styles with mixing thats straight up fuckin crazy from the most respected dj/producer in the world. dieselboy with the most tightest mixing skills i have ever heard (and i want to hear someone who can step up to that and say they can mix better than dieselboy). hahaha i cant decide who is the better dj though..
j majik.... now damn this guy is without a doubt my favorite producer. infrared has been releasing absolutly amazing tracks and it was j majik who set the disco drumnbass sound.... the spaced invaderz remix is so damn amazing.... when i first heard it at clash 2, or 1 i cant remember which... the jlf one, i remember really being into hatiras' sound of the somewhat harder but more filtered sound and to hear a drumnbass remix of a classic house tune like spaced invaderz was pretty fuckin awesome.... other than hard dark tekstep that was totally owning the scene, a new idea with so many possibilities made it into the uk massive scene. i'm sure guys like calibre, carlito and addiction and some of the hospital, defunked and creative source producers were putting out housey tunes... but its the hard disco house sound into drumnbass that set the new style. house to drumnbass remixes... hawww fuck. obviously spaced invaderz is one of many, like the new weapon and esassin remix of robbie riveras harder and faster.... just blows me away..... i'm really hoping for a crazy disco fused exclusive set from the don of disco drum and bass, j muthafuckin majik. his producers under the infrared label are AWESOME. Loco, cookie monsters.... aweomse tracks from them. sonic and silver have carried on the disco style with the bassline rolls and lots of filters with some catchy riffs and i'm hoping that we'll be hearing the real exclusive shit there.
and moving fusion is gonna be there.... daayyyaaammm..... i'm a lil disapointed with the sets i've been hearing from them but their production is SICK. the back to the future (i think it was that?) lp is the best 60 bucks i've ever spent on vinyl. i love all the tracks in that lp.... guy fawkes has such a fun bassline, ghost lane has the fuckin sickest drop with that dope guitar riff, back to the future is such a cool darker track than carries on from their older works like atlantis, sex drive....
now i get the chance to see 4 producers i've very closesly followed.... hahaha this party is one never ever to forget. MAD MAD MAD props to the usc crew. you guys are fuckin awesome i cant wait to be in seattle tomorrow
