I think I know the sort of headphone you're talking about. Basically what the headphone does is recieve all soundwaves from outside and produces a flipped version of those soundwaves which cancels out the other soundwaves, eliminating most sound from outside the headphones... Awsome idea, but I heard they can get expensive though.
