Mini Disc/mixer recording question?

I just got a sony minidisc player. Im trying to record stuff through my mixer but it doesnt seem to be working. Ive recorded cd just fine from my mini system through an optical cable, but when i try it on aux through the mixer, nothing comes through.

I then tried to record through line 1 on my mixer to my headphone jack, but that didnt work either.

Anyone know what im doing wrong?

dood your description is a littel confusing so if i make you sound ignorant I apologise.

1.out put of mixer weather rec. main or auxoutput in to optical input in minidisc

2. check rec input on your minidisc rec, sonys do have this feature.

3. try anouther cable between it couls be bunk.

4. make sure the mixers out put levels are up and you are getting sound out of the beast. if your using an aux output look for a pot on your mixer that controls the aux output level.

what kind of a mixer are you using?
