One should add the new 'Elements 01' CD mixed by Sage recently out on moonshine. Sage, coincidently is coming to Vancouver on July 16th @ the Drink for a special event POUND wednesdays.
Boh! www.poundrecordings.com Also there are some talented locals who post mixes on the board so keep your eyes peeled *hint hint* |

Bryan G's 'Sounds Of Movement' is just awesome.... tracks from Roni Size, Kamanchi, Marky, XRS, Dillinja, High Contrast, Total Science.... this CD is the pure essence of drumnbass, imo... it's not that synthy death metal trash that everyone seems to go nuts for these days, but it's every bit as hard & running, and with soul... i think a lot of dnb producers have lost the plot these days because their music has no soul
Dara's last CD for Breakbeat Science is dope, can't remeber the title off hand. Lots of Vancouver representation on there, 2 Psidream tunes plus Ill-esha's collab w/ Datcyde The new album by Ed Rush & Optical, 'The Return Of The Incredible Dr. Shade', is freakin MASSIVE. These guys bring it dark & funky, with a sound that owes as much to detroit techno & chicago house, as it does to hardcore UK breakbeats. Comes with a mixed cd and an unmixed one, with a few non-LP tracks including collabs with Fierce, Sonic, Matrix, MC Rymetyme & MC Darrison. hot shit. |
