Recording from mixer to Mini Disc

im having problems recording through my mixer. I hook up my MD to my stereo through the optical cable, but there's no signal being sent to the MD when i play records. I tried to connect the MD through line in on my mixer to my stereo, and that works, but theres not much of a signal and its pretty quiet.

ive got a vestax 07 pro, with 2 lines, and a session in?

can anyone help with this?

you can just go through the unbalanced out using rca to mini-plug adaptor then mini-plug into you md player...

after your done, let me borow it to record with

whats a mini plug adapter?

converts rca cord into a audio cord(like the speaker output on the back of your sound card)

at least that's what i think it is. i always call it the audio cord. lol

see, i have an audio cable that has an rca end, into a single plug, which fits into the line in on my MD. the rca end plugs into the mixer fine. the signals too weak though...and the recording ends up being really quiet.

what part of the mixer are you plugging into

thats probably what maters... and how much output level are you making it have... it should be at 0 db... right where the green meets the red

you md player should have a signal strenth indicator on it... you can pump you mixer up so that the indicator shows at the ideal signal level

then it will be louder

I had the same problem. like ^^^^^ said, pump up the volume on the mixer itself, instead of your reciever and the signal going to your MD should be louder, also, try experimenting with recording to your MD with the MD itself set at different volumes... I found with mine it was better at certain volumes than others... but that could have just been a fluke.

I get a signal using an rca going through Line 1, but its really weak and quiet...thats with the levels pumped up loud, and the rec volume at max.

you gotta go out the master output...

where do you live, i can bring you a bunny jumper if you need it to slip the output, if you need to stick with rca

it makes one rca into 2, its called a bunny jumper because it kinda lookes like bunnie ears in the beginning...

you put that bunny ears end from your mixer to your amp, and then in the back of the bunny ears you plug in another rca then into your md player

it just kinds splits it :)

Sounds like you need to go pick up a Dual RCA to single 1/8" adapter.
There are good and shitty ones, good ones keep the signal in stereo, shitty ones convert to mono. Any half decent audio store you can find one from 5 to 10 bucks.
