Get off it...
As much as I respect them both for being great production teams theres many other duos out there that rock it harder. But the thread asked whos better. As of right now trackwise Im feelin SW alot more the shit they're doing with apollo 440 is pretty insane. They seem to be alot more diverse with production also compared to plumps. |

bah...here's my two cents.
Kraig - very thoughtful! Mateo, u hit it on the nose. Plumps are more oriented with for "lack of a better phrase" mainstream breaks. Their beats are great and i have a ton of old and new plumps records, but they are very formula and house influenced. SW on the other hand are highly experimental and very cutting edge. Yes they do have their moments of cheese but overall I prefer the Stanton Warriors. Who btw are not named after Stanton Cartridges, but after a company that makes manhole covers. |

I'm gonna have to go with Stanton Warriors on this one... Plump DJs make TONS of awesome tracks, but like Akeel said they're very formula oriented, so eventually all their tracks come down to the same kinda sound... Stanton Warriors are just all over the damn field, none of their stuff really sounds like their other stuff, so it's cool that way
both mega talented though |

I would have to say the Plumps are wayy better! Come on guys, how soon do we forget? Electric Disco and Plumpy Chunks was the freshest shit ever when it came out!! What about the Push?? Damn, these were the jams and can still be played today and make a party go off!
Stantons are making some kewl shit but but believe it or not their shit does sound the same. I have a track of theirs from 2000 that has the same sounding bassline as Apollo 440. Their Reckless Girl mix was pretty close sounding to the original but with a better break in it and a bassline at the end. Most of the stuff they make are remixes. They make killer remixes but the Plumps shit are more original. Thats why they stick out. They have created their own sound. It might sound all the same but remember that is THEIR sound. |

that's a tuffy. i was a bit disapointed in the plumps new full length. tweeks & bleeps makes it worth while though. warriors probably take it though. maybe not though, the plumps tracks & remixes that are good, are REALLY good. but the warriors are probably more consistant. OK maybe not. c'mon "ELECTRIC DISCO" wrecked the dance floor every time i dropped it, and still does. It almost has that Mr. Oizo Flat Beat status. Although Warriors mix of Dooms Night is no slouch either.

the plumps haven't made a decent track track since "The Push" and stanton warriors have made maybe five nice tracks.
Hybrid has over 35 tracks and remixes which 90% are hot (IMO). But hey, everybody has different tastes. http://www.discogs.com/artist/Hybrid http://www.discogs.com/artist/Stanton_Warriors http://www.discogs.com/artist/Plump_DJs Last edited by AWOL; Jul 24, 03 at 06:18 AM. |
