I beleive he's spending all (or most of) his money on the controller, but has enough left over for a turntable under $500....

Walk into L&M and put $500 down on a 1200 and finance the rest. Your payment would be like $35/month.

a used tech 12. seriously, these bad boys last 10+ years and rarely breakdown. find one used in the $500 range and it will be better than any other table you could have bought brand new for that price.

I have had mine now pushing 7 years and they're as good as the day I got them (with a few minor repairs now & then).

Numark TT200's, Stanton STR8-80's are both decent from what I've heard. Never used either though. If you can find a used Gemini PT-2100, the feel of those I find to be similar to 1200's. A new TTX is $700, but it'll be a little while till you see used ones of those around.

Go on ebay and get a numark ttx 1 used.
you can get them for about 315 american plus shipping.

good friggin table. I LOVE the feature on the ttx, where you can lock how the pitch sounds , but increase the tempo. very helpful when mixing slower records with faster ones.

yeah i bought 2 brand new ttx's separately off ebay... both from the same supplier but just at different times...

the first time i had to pay a duty and also a brokerage fee... so after all that jazz it came to $600 cdn (after shipping and everything)

the second time around, i didnt get charged for either a duty OR brokerage fee which is kinda weird.. which means the 2nd ttx i got was only $500 cdn

yeah i would definately recommend getting a ttx off ebay or something...
and gavin: why go with a gemini? they suck man... sure they may seem like techs at the beginning, but they wear out very quickly and their quality degrades HARSH...

i played on pt2100's and they were reeeeal sketchy... the pitch would change by itself at random, u could even see it with the red light on the side...

AWOL: check out www.numark.com all the specs are there..
not only do they work better than techs, they look better too!

cheers
