Anybody like Psy-Trance?

I'm just getting into Psy-Trance and lovin it. Anybody else? Any mixes/artists to look out for?

& is Goa the same as Psy? I've checked out a couple shops and they list alot of the tracks as goa/psy, so I'm confused.

I like Psy-Trance a lot.

I have quite a few sets on the ftp.

Rytalin would be the best source for artist names though.

heh
:)

Generally I consider Goa to be stuff like Astral Projection, the stuff that's more like trance that has alot of Indian influence in its melodies and such. Well just more melodic in general.

Psytrance is the stuff that is comprised more of percussion and abstract noises. (IMO)

some good artists to check out would be

-astral projection
-infected mushroom
-Hallucinogen
-Koxbox (particularily the album "The Great Unknown")
-Cosmosis - Contact (or any other cosmosis, but Contact is one of my favourite mixes)
-GMS
-Logic Bomb
-Parasense
-Son Kite (REALLY good)
-Hux Flux (REALLY wierd stuff, lotsa bitcrushed computer noize and such)
-Skazi (really wierd stuff with sharp teeth)
-Wizzy Noise (really dark stuff)

there's a ton out there.
if you are on a filesharing network where you can browse users' files, just search for a couple of what I listed, browse thru their psytrance folder and grab whatever catches your eye.

I'll try and sort them out one of these days into their own folder.

Rytalin can then critique if I chose correctly or not.

I was introduced to Psytrance & Goa Trance when I was in Costa Rica last year and hadn't heard much of it prior to that. They LOVE it. I don't mind it, I have to be in a certain mood I think to appreiate it though.

I love goa used to play a bit of it when I was in capetown. Infected mushroom is classic

it's all about the metal lead guitar overtop of the independance day sample. ( track one off "The Gathering" album )
