The flare will have to come from Kaos but...
to be honest we've never put any weight on the cartridge ever. Most of the weight we apply is on the tonearm. You might see some dj's putting pennies or weights on the cartridge but in all the 3+ years I've been playing i've never used any additional weights. It's all a matter of feel and if you have a heavy hand then you'll need the weight. It's also needed when the decks are set up on a shaky table or scaffold. Hope that helps...

Forms right
Dont weight your needlez
Try to balance them so the tonarm is *almost* perfectly balanced. It increases the life of your needle and your record. Only time I've ever weighted the needles was when everyone was drunk at a WHP gathering that was held outside with wind factor... I also put em at '45 degree angles too so they wouldnt skip as much with the heavy hands like Form said. Also, as I've learned from having some unnamed DJs spin on my tables, a heavily weighted tonarm can cause the back of the cartridge to drag on the record... causing the needle to scratch all the way across a record tgo the centre.. yikes - OUCH peacout |
