I got it for Christmas and I haven't been able to stop listening to it since...I can honestly say without a doubt that he definitely deserved to win 100%.....his voice, range, style = amazing, and the CD is so well engineered, perfectly geared to his voice

best tracks include
track 1 - Sorry 2004
track 6 - What If
track 10 - Play Our Song
track 11 - Don't Quit On Me (totally sound like an R. Kelly track!)

fans of hip hop, r&b and soul should definitely check this CD out
it's well worth the $$

Anything or anyone even remotely associated with American Idol needs to be shot, killed, run over, and then shot again.

These people need to earn a recording contract etc. the right way... put in the time and work associated with it, not just win some loser, media drone TV show.

Yah, cos it's just that easy for some poor black kid living in America.

Without such things, exposure and opportunity MAY not be possible at all. There are a lot of popular bands out there that are nothing but contrived BS and are far from 'keeping it real' irregardless. (even bands you may like! :p)

I think Ruben is very talented..

he's also very cute.

Ruben was studying music in university, he's been singing since he was a child.

Kelly Clarkson moved to LA to attempt a record deal, she sent out numerous demos and had a couple of interviews, but they didn't like her because her "image" wasn't right. Translation - she wasn't anorexic enough. Her demo is fucking amazing, I've heard it, and I would have signed her in a second. Anyways, the only reason she moved back home to Texas was 'cause her apartment burned down and she was left with nothing. Her best friend signed her up for American Idol, forced her to go, she even drove her to the auditions.

A break is a break, I don't care how it happens. The bottom line IMO is that if you have an amazing voice like Kelly's or Ruben's it doesn't matter how you get the record deal, as long as you're making beautiful music, as they both now are.
