i wish i lived in euro man....they know their music.

anywho...anyone know how to get a hold of older mixes? i know you can listen to the recent ones online (from radio one)...but we heard a mix from last week...(is was actually being played on 94.5.....so im assuming it was an older mix)...from pete tong... ohhhh soooo good. one of the songs on the mix was mood 2 swing- cant get away....

haven't been to this site in awhile, and i see some sorta subscription thing, but u should be able to still sign up and download the mixes for free... goes back to like 98-99 i think .. hundreds of EM's! who's the best?

i fell in love with the essential mixes in 97 when oaky was doing one every month I've got alot of them still on cd lots of sasha digweed oaky plus my favorite house mix of all time:

Try www.di.fm listen there, I did that when I had ADSL and found a lot of awesome tracks. I've got a couple CD's of Essential Mixes from Tunnel Trance Force, Paul Oakenfold, Lisa Lashes and others. :rave:

^where in the mix is it? i know that mix inside out. hahaha

that seb set is so damn killer. the first track iguana, 2nd some timo maas track, 3rd xcabs - neuro... now FUCKIN A this track is crazy and i still haven't been able to find a full version of this track. after that another timo maas track der scherbier or something... sooo sick... then komodo, then dead cities.. soo heavy.. then the gouryella remix of binary finery.. thats probably the absolute peak of the set!

the oakey set tops it all though! i have never heard such amazing tracks on any essential mix ever!

i like the live mixes off bbc's 1xtra, there urban radio station..nothng but garage dancehall, house dnb and hip hop

Yeh no shit, i hate people playing sandstorm and trying to tell me thats the same as DNB, and telling me that its not "real" music cuz alot of it is made on a computer, most of these people dont recognize the musical theory, talent, and creativity that goes into electronic music, and fail to see that alot of the mainstream rap they listen to has the same sorta electronic sounds produced on similiar hardware/software..

^i can understand how alot of people feel that electronic music isnt music cuz theres so much fuckin shit out there its not even funny. and sorry to everyone but most people have shit taste in music thats either too out there or just really bad for the normal average non-music fanatic to dig right off the bat.

it takes a very good example to get people to appreciate the music.... pretty hard to educate it

other than that about the essential mix i'm a huge huge fan =)

when you hear pete tong's voice before the mix you know its gonna be quality

good point.. thats why i usually stick to the dancefloor dnb when i spin for my friends... if i start laying down some dark chaos, or tracks with chopped/chaotic breaks, everyone starts looking around like WTF is going on hahaha...
