Attn DJs: Vynil Care! Help!
I ask my fellow turntablists:
You know when you buy a record, and sometimes, for whatever reason (abuse, beer, other moisture?) it bends in to a convex (or concave) shape? You try to play that record, cue it up and ZWWWIIINNNGGGGG - your record isn't even close to catching the slip mat. This poses problems for even basic beat matching and minor corrections when mixing. So: If your records get convex or concave, is there any known way of getting those vynil to lie flat again? Heavy weights - like books- don't work as I found out with a Taucher track that I subsequently mangled. PS: (NEVER buy from the Ultra label - these things are paper thin - probably made in Newfoundland) Tanks for da elp - pass da bong. |
