I was checking out the download link for soulseek from an earlier post in this thread, and it 's a little scary. Clicked on a few places to get info, including the FAQ, and something tries to install onto my computer. I did not reply or authorize, just waited and tried to get more info, and then I get some popups in German. Then my computer modem starts dialing out (I'm on cable modem but have a 56K phone modem for other stuff), and I notice a popup again in German about $1.95 Euros per minute or something. So I pull the phone line, terminate everything and reboot.

Then I notice there's some kind of P2P program installed on my system with a desktop icon.

Dunno if this is legit or not, but I don't like this crap at all!

just me or is it very wierd trying to make dc++ work? i cant seem to do it, with my ip and everything it just wont happen, what else is good? soul seek isnt good, i dont like it, everyting gets remotely queued and i dont end up with any music

i think that soulseek problem is to do with that site you were on not being tha official soulseek site.
