POUND Recordings Debut 12" Released!
POUND RECORDINGS RELEASES DEBUT 12"
VANCOUVER, Canada - Independent record label POUND Recordings Inc. is pleased to announce the release of its first 12-inch, “The 1200Psi EP”. The Drum and Bass record features US/UK production team PRIME MOVER with a rolling floor-shaker entitled, “Get The F*** Back!” On the flip side is Vancouver artist KRUSHA with a hard but extremely intelligent Jungle groove, “The Score”. PRIME MOVER Prime Mover is the production/DJ duo of Bristol's Dave Cridge and Virginia’s DJ Tasha. Cridge, being heavily involved with the UK rave scene while DJ-ing with well-known UK act, the Prodigy, went on to manage Bristol’s most well known record store, "Replay." Constant contact with Bristol’s underground producers like Roni Size prompted him to launch his own label, Tribe Recordings, in the mid 90’s. Since then a steady stream of releases has followed, including debut releases from some of today’s biggest names. Tasha, known for his soundclash style of Drum and Bass, has been pushing his sound throughout North America for close to a decade. His hard upfront sound can be recognized quickly on dubplates that currently see support from some of Americas biggest ragga DJ’s. KRUSHA As a percussionist delivering the musical backbone known as rhythm, George Krakus found himself surrounded by musicians. After spending time with several garage bands he eventually joined up with the established hardcore group, Burden. By age 16, he had completed two west coast tours and a full length CD with the band. He then turned his attention to electronic music. The complex rhythmic structures of Drum and Bass grabbed him and he hasn’t looked back. This means we have delivered upon our promise of pairing a local artist with a more recognized American or UK artist to help put Vancouver on the international map.
