It was kind of funny, actually. A year ago when he was doing a solo tour through here, I went to see Del at the Commie. Whenever he'd do one of his more current hits (Positive Contact, Clint Eastwood, At The Helm) the crowd went nuts. However, when he busted out his early 'hits' like Mistadobalina and Dr. Bombay, there was only a marginal reaction, mainly by those of us who'd been fans for much longer.

I have to admit, my personal favorite Del track has to be The Wacky World Of Rapid Transit, which is on that album. For anyone who's had to take transit, you'll just end up laughing all the way through. Fresh from the meadow with a mellow attitude I was set to pursue another quest for the bus... |

I fell in love with del the week he released "I wish...." and have never looked back since :)
As for "Both sides of the bain" goes. I think it is a better album than it gets recognition for. I dunno, maybe its simply that a lot of people dont even know it exists. Del is rad but i wouldnt say hes super superior to all the other hiero mc's. On the Full circle cd, Del basically held a supporting role on it and it still ripped. One things for sure though, Hiero and Quannum are the best thing hip hop has going for it in this millenium :D B//F |
