Meat Katie: Breaking The Bedrock

Label: Bedrock Breaks | Release Date: Monday, May 10, 2004

Meat Katie takes the baton in the next instalment in the Bedrock Breaks, Compiled & Mixed series. Following 2 fantastic albums from the hands of Hyper, Meat Katie brings his own blend of acidic, dirty breaks and chunky, house laden beats to the Bedrock Breaks fold in this superb double album.

Coming at a time where he is about to launch his new label Lot49 Records, this project looks set to take Meat Katie's sound to a much wider audience and establish him even further as one of the true heavyweights in the breaks scene.

CD1 is a journey through some of the best underground talent in the world s breakbeat scene. Dan F, Will Saul and Habersham bring their distinctive sounds alongside the fx laden tracks of Phillip Charles and Walker Hintenhaus whilst established talent in the form of Rennie Pilgrem, Koma & Bones, Dylan Rhymes and Force Mass Motion throw their weight behind this building breaks album.

In CD2 Meat Katie opens in familiar style, the acidic bass lines and breaks kicking into gear in no uncertain terms. New kids on the block 'District', La Liga, and namTrack, stand shoulder to shoulder with tracks from Lee Coombs & Meat Katie, another co-production between Christian J and Meat Katie, Sons of Slough and Andy Page & George Clinton in this vibing, multi-layered mix.

An unmixed limited edition double vinyl pack will also be available, featuring exclusives from Rennie Pilgrem, Force Mass Motion, Dylan Rhyms and more, giving DJs across the globe the chance to get their hands on some of the most upfront breakbeat tracks around at the moment, and featuring some of the best cuts from the double CD, making this latest edition of Bedrock Breaks even more desirable.
