PURE PHUNK RECORDINGS N E W R E L E A S E I N F O COMING SOON! Pure Phunk Recordings 004 PPR004A: "Edge Of The Earth" (Original Mix)" by Sole Claw PPR004B: "Edge Of The Earth" (Madame Mercury & DJ What Mix)" by Sole Claw Release Date: April 22nd, 2004 ------------------------- ABOUT THIS RELEASE: This second release for Sole Claw is nothing short of a dancefloor bomb! The A-Side contains the original mix from the mysterious man himself. A wobbly bass groove and some rolling percussion give 'Edge Of The Earth' it's 'Edge'. Throw a catchy vocal hook in for flavour and you've got yourself the recipe for dancefloor mayhem! On the B-side you'll find and awesome West Coast reworking from EMUOR recording artists Madame Mercury and DJ Whatt. This duo gives the tune a more American edge with some funky drums and some killer synth stabs! This record is definitely dancefloor material! ------------------------- WHO IS SOLE CLAW? Sole Claw is the dark side of one of Canada's most renowned breakbeat producers, created to allow an outlet for the harder side of breaks. A self taught producer who is no stranger to chart success, the man behind "Goth Chick Hand Job" has continually had his records hit decks the world over, graced the airwaves of the BBC and CBC, and thrown down hard and funky sets throughout Canada. And the attack is only beginning. ------------------------- REAL AUDIO SAMPLES: PPR004A: "Edge Of The Earth" (Original Mix)" by Sole Claw Real Audio Samples: Click Here! 'Edge Of The Earth' is a harder edged tune with a raw, growling bassline and some funky party samples. Flip the record over for the Madame Mercury and DJ Whatt remix. This mix gives the tune some "Americana" flavor with a funkier beat and synth stabs that will cause mayhem on the dancefloor. A well rounded release from Pure Phunk Recordings. - Rinse Mag (North America) DJ Icey (Zone Records, USA) "I am totally feeling the original mix. Like the bassline loads, has a real rollin feel to it, Nice locked on groove in the tune." Simply Jeff (Phonomental Music, USA) "Nice funky chunk of wax. Two solid mixes should appeal to more than one floor." Atomic Hooligan (Botchit & Scarper, UK) "Like both mixes, not quite up my street. A bit full on for my sets, but both well produced and work well with the crowd. Original mix slightly edges it for me." B-Side (Urb Magazine, USA) "Original mix is the one doing it for me. Strong tune." Jay Cunning (BreaksFM, Menu Music, UK) "Tough funky roller, will be in the bag for sure" J-Break (Cyberian Knights, USA) "Great job on this release! Both mixes are solid and can work any type of dancefloor. Keep up the good work on the bangin nu releases!" Angus Robinson (Release Records, CAN) "This is my favourite release so far from Pure Phunk. Sole Claw's original is simple, but effective. Love that bassline he's used. That vocal sample's really cool as well - I just wish he had used more of it!" Ms.E (Beatsync, USA) "It's all about the original mix, it's the roller. Nice tune to drop in to a set when the dancefloor is beyond take-off and just cruisin at high altitudes!" Big League Chu (All World Entertainment, CAN) "Sole Claw comes up with some dirty bass to keep this floor mover flowin'. This will one is guaranteed to keep the floor filled. The flip provides a nice florida style remix, but brings an edge to it that makes it tougher than your usual florida fluff." ------------------------- Limited Advance Copies Coming Soon.
