I just got one of those cheap American DJ dual CD decks. it works perfectly with burned CDs, and the pitch is stable enough that you can do decent mixes. Overall if you're not looking to get into serious CD DJ'ing this is what I'd recommend.

I really think that the Pioneer CD decks are the way to go if you're serious about mixing. The jog wheel on them is superb and really makes it easy to make minor adjustments. The CDJ-700 is really smooth and is compact, but quite pricey, so for a lot less money the CDJ-100 is a good bet and pretty much the same. Of course the other day I played with the new CDJ-1000 and OMG it *almost* feels like vinyl, but wow, not quite worth the $2100 price tag quite yet :035:
But it all depends what you're up for - let us know what you decide and how it works out... Josh |

The one I've been looking at is a Stanton S500, or maybe the S700 if I can get a bit more money. That American DJ one that sean mentioned above doesn't look too bad either.
I just am not very educated as to what companies generally make good cd decks. I know Stanton mixers are good quality for the most part but I don't know about their cd decks at all. same with American DJ. |

True, the jog wheel makes it feel more authentic, but... it's not authentic, so who cares. With the American DJ dual cd player, the pitch bend buttons allow you to match beats pretty damned easily, almost as easily as with vinyl (well, not quite, but easily enough). It's not nearly as fun as vinyl, but it will let you mix tracks at least.
