i enjoy certain mc's who actually say something , not like skibadee who just barks and CA KAW CA KAW like a fucking rooster.. i enjoy mc'ing more if there is something important or socially conscious being said, and even if not, at least they got good flow and dont repeat themselves, and know when to shutup so i can listen to the tracks being played.. all is good..

I don't mind MC's, when they're really talented and understand that "less is more". I guess I've just never heard a talented MC. Maybe there are a few, perhaps - but for the most part, I'm there to hear the jungle and drum&bass.
Seriously, shut the hell up. I want to hear the music, not your distorted babble. Good DJs actually take time and effort to ensure that their equipment is giving them the best sound it can - and as a live-pa, ensuring that my equipment sounds its best is a huge part of what I do. So why does it seem that every MC I've heard uses a cheap mic plugged directly into the DJ mixer? There isn't a studio in the world that records vocals on a mic plugged directly into a mixer, because it sounds like ASS. Compression, EQ, light reverb - a lot of things need to be done before vocals will sit well with amplified music... but almost every MC I've seen, they apparently figure that if they just turn it up until it drowns out the music, people will be able to understand what they're saying, and it'll lend a validity to their work. BOM SELECTA! REWIND! I love it when I feel the bass from that BOM! BOM! in my chest instead of the bassline. It totally does it for me. God, I fucking HATE MCs. You know why? 'Cause I love dancing to drum&bass. Stop ruining the music! If I wanted to hear something important and socially concious, I'd listen to hiphop or spoken word. If a DJ needs an MC to hype up the crowd, the DJ needs to spend more time in the record store. |

^^agreed!
i especially dislike skibadee because all he does is use random syllables for like a filler when he cant think up a good rhyme. i guess all mc's are going to do this sometimes but seems like skibadee does it A LOT. my favorite mc right now: mc stamina edit: agreeing with decypher Last edited by stringbeans; Jun 14, 04 at 10:13 PM. |

awesome! i'm glad to see such possitive criticism out of this. for the most part i enjoy mc's with my jungle.
it's all about substance. i dont want to hear mindless chatta up on stage. also a good mc knows when to stop spitting & lets the music take you for a ride rather then the mc over power the tune or the mix. |

I like jungle Mc's that sound like EVADER MC aka Graham Crownston.
I think he ownes...and he uderstands that people dont want the mc stealing the dj's thunder...plus you just dont rhyme cat with cat, or say "hambuger with cheese" is your lyrics. |
