Beastie Boys - To tha 5...
OMFG. They actually did it. They got modern, kept their flava and cooked up another fine crack rock. The beats are the bangin-ist ever (aside from the Dust Brothers' sample-a-delic relic known as Paul's Boutique, but that's a whole different story, 15 years ago and entirely sampled) and the rhymes are still fresh. I grew up on these guys, but after "Hello Nasty" I thought it was over, I mean they have to be in their forties by now and all that experimentation wasn't the boys I wanted to hear. But regardless of age and phases, It's nice to hear the same old voices with slightly different styles attached and a little more attitude bringing up the rear.
Bottom line: If you have ever been Beastie, GET THIS ALBUM!
