About this release:

The sun is shining, the patios are open, the ladies are wearing less and less... it's summer time! Time to relax and kick back. For this next release on Pure Phunk we've got Influenza capturing a bit of that summer vibe in their latest endeavor "Prozac Nation". This one is an infectious tune with deep sub bass and an extremely catchy synth line.

On the flip, UK heavyweight Krafty Kuts steps up with an outstanding rework bringing truckloads of dancefloor appeal. Awesome percussion and a funky bassline will make this an instant hit! This record will be charted as the 'Single Of The Month' in the July issue of URB (USA) and has already been licensed to 2 major US Compilations.

Who is Influenza?

For years, the Canadian West Coast has remained sheltered from the mainstream barrage of electronic trends. The result has allowed the local producers to fuse the stronger global sound movements with their own unique West Coast flavor.

Influenza is a project by two distinctly different individuals. DJ Oddmud, a renowned local breaks DJ and ex-promoter is an energetic extrovert. His knowledge of the breakbeat and his understanding of the genres continuing evolution allows for a purist style that always maintains flow. Psidream, the second part of Influenza, is a meticulous studio producer with years of experience working with all forms of drum and bass. His projects have gained a reputation for being of the highest quality and are sought out by professionals and amateur music lovers in his field.

Through the unique attributes of each other’s style, and their love of the music, the duo is creating the future sounds of breaks.
