I have really been focusing on doing this as well. I totally agree with you Wiggles, EXTREMELY useful especially when mixing tracks with vocals. |

the trick is to remember where you want to move the pitch back to after you make the adjustment... when i first started out doing it i'd always forget where i wanted to move the pitch to and so it'd totally go off
ie. if you're pitch is originally at 0 and you want to adjust it to 1, you move it up to maybe 3 for maybe half a second and then remember to move it back to 1 once its in sync |

just playing....you still practice? |

i think it's fundamental, especially if you're mixing music where the mixes are intended to be long & smooth, ie breaks, house, trance, dnb. touching the platter while in the mix is wack. sometimes it can't be avoided, but every dj who wants to hold beat-mixes longer than like 30 seconds should be able to do this.

If you hear Andrew Spence even as much as slid a beat.... i'll give you $100.... and if you hear him trainwreck.... fuck.... i'll give you my turntables. Tighest DJ i've ever heard! -soda |

I love using it and very handing when dealing with volcals or sounds that change easly with the speed. The only time I touch the plater or spindle is if it needs the tinyest touch and I know the pitch is fine.
Like anything its just takes practice:) |

i really like digital pitch.. its rad its like +06.2
very good.. I realize that at no party I'll ever see a digital pitch control. But i've never had a problem yet. except for that one party when i put a record onto a deck that was already playing. BUT I BLAME LARGE AMOUNTS OF DRUGS FOR THAT ONE! |
