Solace 2004 : The Forest Sound Lab DJ Competition

For the past 4 years, we @ R3 have thrown a yearly event and given a deejay who has not previously played Solace the chance to play on the The Forest Sound Lab SoundSystem.

Last year we were proud to have Psilocin (now a resident with Automatic) play after seeing him rip it up on open decks @ Solace 2002.

Now for 2004 we are opening this to any dj's new or old that have not played Solace before and would like to join us for a night of hedonistic fun, and great music.

no trainwrecks please.

The R3 collective will listen to each submission carefully, then pick one deejay to perform based on their demo.

How is the judging done? The entire R3 crew must have consensus on who is chosen. There is no other criteria. If we all like your demo, its on...even if you play shitty polka music...but its really kick ass...its on.

Only 1 opening dj slot is reserved for this competition, however if your submission is quality and impressive, then there is certainly room for more.

i played acid techno at solace 2002

it was open decks

but my god what a wicked sound.

Rad party... Splurge and the Akeel crew (i was in that crew!) did an awesome job.. I even shat my pants there after drinking sour puss.

hahahaha - and he was late too - ended up at some biker party and almost got his ass kicked then rolled in at like 6 or 7am :P, his 2nd year late in a row too that fuckin guy.

The Forest SoundLab SoundSystem is one of the most high-end concert rigs ever to be found in an outdoor party in the lower mainland.

Its big and its loud :)
