A lock groove is no more a "filler track" in a DJ set than a brick is a "filler block" in a wall.
Techno is pretty much the only genre where the DJ can truly build new tracks using parts from multiple sources... worth exploring, IMHO. If I found a decent set of CDJ's of some type on for cheap, I'd probably bite. The ability to burn and spin my own tracks would be pretty cool, I'd think. A friend of mine, DJ Honeey Mustard in Calgary, has been known to spin inspired full sets of only lockgrooves... now that is something to see. Then again, she's been spinning records for 15 years. :) |

see the problem with me.
I dont know any good songs that will help me out. There's soooooo much stuff out there. so if you can reccomend.. please do! and another thing.. i found a track i've had for like 3 years.. never been able to mix it in with anything. i found a track for it yesturday.. I seriously jizzed my pants when started to cue the other track. the bass just gave me a shot in the nards. so anyways.. yea i was quite happy. |
