So I was digging through my massive collection of dusty old mp3s... and I'm getting all nostalgic about when trance was good. I really can't stomach a lot of it now, but whoa I used to be a trance junkie.

I think the last time I really enjoyed trance was Jaspa Jones at Fusion Dreams.

Any other former-trance lovers out there?

i still like few of the new trance, but most of them pretty much make me wanna throw up, there's simply too much cheese in this genre right now, & i find myself more and more at jungle/breaks/house rooms at parties rather than main room.

if u want to enjoy trance more, hehe, try popping more...thatll help:p

^^Well, I can't say that I was sober, but I know the trance at Fusion Dreams was good. And I haven't heard better since.

i've enjoyed trance since trance was trance. I will always love trance. There is good trance, and then there's bad.

criticizing a specific genre of electronic music is extremely ignorant.

what's breaks? trance at a higher bpm without singing and a snap?
I like all EDM genres.

You just need to know where to find the good stuff.

A always prefered Hard Trance. And Psytrance too. I never could get into the lighter stuff, too much like elavator music.

I like trance that I can dance to. As such, trance with silly, momentum-killing breakdowns are a pain. Shame it's the style that seems to be the most popular. :soak:

The topic of trance on this site is taboo, do not mention that word or you will be blasted by ignorant commentators who cannot benefit from the inspiring & uplifting feeling trance can generate.

i love trance no matter what. ill have to agree with neoh, it is pretty damn ignorant to judge an electronic music genre. But if all you people who stopped liking trance, i suggest u check out Alphazone or Trancepulse , really good shit right there.

I've been listening to Trance since 1996. I still like a fair bit, although I do find I've been listening to alot more kinds of Electronic music lately.

dudez, not that me or anyone else is critizing the whole genre of trance that they're boring to critizing rather the bad ones, but u see the ratio to "good" Trance to "bad" trance for me is like 1:20!!!

wuts with all this cheesy trance outthere being released by all this labels...#$^)!#@$*!?? i often found myself listening to like 50 trance records, & only like one or two or even worst, none. If anyone has been listening to trance for 5 yrs like me, ull notice that most of the trance just lost the emotions, the story line within them......They're no longer art, but rather Drug music for the candy kids...

Most of trance ar cheesy like alphazone's production, they always sound the same...the reason to why many ppl like their music is becoz it makes them bang their headz, but afterawhile, they become boring quite ezily & same as many other artists' productions....DJ SAMMI!!

hate to say it but u guys are right trance is not what it use to be... i remeber couple years back I could listin to the same track over and over again and it wouldnt get played out bcous there was something more to it then just bass ... now with most the new stuff i hear a song twice and it feels played out ... itz all the same ....

What's the matter with you people?

Don't get me wrong, I love classic trance as much as the next person.. but get with the times! The quality of trance being produced these days is amazing! The quality of production/technology being used is on a completely diffrent level than the trance from yesterday. Sure there is a lot of CRAP, I'll be the first to admit that. As Sykonee mentioned, far too many songs with long useless breakdowns. As well as the typical, generic cookie cutter format of McTrance, and stupid hard shit, it's definitely a challange to find quality material these days.

I'll end this in saying that the quality stuff is out there to be found, however, you're not going to find it by 'dusting off your mp3s'. I have no respect for people who go DL mp3s and say that trance has gone to shit. If you really like trance, do the homework, find out which labels, artists, and djs you like, and support them.
