Music Volume

Ok, so when you're cruisin around in your car during a hot Summer's day, you've got the windows down and your music pumped.
When you get to a red light or a stop sign, do you roll up the windows or turn down your music?
The reason I ask this is because I was at an intersection yesterday with the volume maxed right out, windows down and I look over and this woman in a white minivan looks at the truck and shakes her head, like the music is bothering her. I didn't bother turning down the music or rolling up the windows, cause how long are you at an intersection for... 30 seconds?

Please, share your opinion.

I guess it depends is you have this massive system with bass that is shaking the car beside you? But overall... who gives a shit what that chick thinks... It's summer... it's hot so there is no way in hell you're rolling up your window! She could have been shaking her head at the type of music you were playing? Maybe she was listening to a christian station in her van? :-p

I see what you mean. It's an Infinity sound system, nothing too major. It's more loud, quality sound than anything else. Shakes the mirrors really good, though.

Hey, how can she not like Pantera?:haha:

My stereo is just a little enhanced (for now :kam:) but it still has a nice punch to it. I just let it be. Chances are, what I'm listening to is 100X better than what they've got on the Radio.

Well doom doesn't have a car.. but considering that he has, on occasion, deliberately woken up his neighbourhood on various sunday mornings with his home system, he would say yes, he would keep the windows down and the music blaring.

Just because you don't like my music doesn't mean that you're gonna break in on my good times.

Keep it blaring.

I susally have my stereo on at a decent volume and have my window cracked open an inch so I can hear ambulance, fire or police sirens.

The best was when I had Rocking Robin blasting while stuck in traffic in Yaletown.

The old people were perplexed seeing a blue haired asian in an SUV playing tunes from the 60's.

On a sidenote... I have to have my music quite loud as I'm running an open exhaust. Right outta the 5-oh and through the Headers... more people will complain about my window rattling exhaust than the DnB etc that I'll be listening to.

Yes, and it's three mirrors, not just one.

Oh yeah, obviously I don't care what the person in the other vehicle thinks, I just wanted to know if any of you have more consideration than me.

Obviously, the radio sucks.

I don't like any overwhelming sounds like bass or anything like that, however, a buddy of mine has 2 Type R 12" subs which really brings Pantera, or anything with a shuffling, sound to life.

If there is anything I like more than a hardcore riff, it's the Hemi V8 rumble.

I've been through three amps in the last month , trying to find one that will offend people that pull up next to me.

For the most part , I hit the Att button when I pull up to an intersection , but when i'm on KG I do my best to lose more hearing.

The looks I get when i pound drum and bass are priceless.

I didnt bother with a stereo in my '95 monte for the same reason. Had dual sweet talkers right off of the manifold.....3.4 litre wasn't as throaty as the 5L , but it made a shitload of noise. My friends knew when i got off work , when i got home and when i was coming across town.

Like I said, I like it more when you actually get people to move to the music. It makes yah feel all warm inside.:silly:

As far as looks go, the truck already gets them, so the music doesn't really attract anymore attention.
