needles.......
Hey adam,
the Trackmasters are garbage. If your looking into nothing but super dope sound quality, the Ortofons are your best bet. They have considerably good tracking too. If you were lookin record something on CD this is what you use. If your looking for imaculate tracking as in no-skipping during cueing and good sound quality, go for the Shure 447.... Wickid needles!! These are used by all skratch djs around the globe. |

True ravers don't worry about pansy little things like sharing needles. A true raver has the mentality of a kindergarten kid. and what was the first thing we all learned in kindergarten? SHARING = GOOD!! even if its an STD your sharing... :Kam: |

Here's the lowdown..........
Ortofons sound great......for about 6 months then a replacement stylus will run you 70 to 80 bucks. I think that they are way to light, they have a flimsy arm and the stylus is really delacate. I personnally hate those little bugga's! The track masters are nice the stylus is durable, the weight is good, but I've heard that the 4 connecting points at the back of them sometimes doesn't connect in the tonearm. I've also seen way to many with broken off arms. My personal favorite is the old school classic aluminum stanton headshell with a stanton 680HP cartridge/stylus. It has metal arm with a good curve that will last forever, a good solid weight, and the stylus can go to hell and back! I've you have $ cash $ and you are a really delicate dj, go with the ortofons. Or, if you want to save a couple bucks the stanton combo will definatley take any punishment and still keep playing. Replacement styluses are 125 for a 3 pack or 60 for a single the headshell is 25 and a cartridge package (cartridge and two styluses)is about 140. I hope that this helps you.
