Where all the real breakbeat djs at?
all I see is kids comming up playing the same favorite tracks from 2 years to 6 months ago with mabe a couple of new track here and there. This is getting tiring. Dj Czech lifted me back up that night of Pulsate but it seems like other than him, djs just dont have that funk that im seeking to hear. Is there anyone here that agreees with me on this?

the breaks scene is still pretty new to vancouver... it's only recently that more breaks DJ's are popping up, and there's a demand for breaks... give it some time...
i'm not really DEEP into breaks, i'm not a hardcore enthusiast about breaks, but for the past year i've preferred breaks over other genres... you're right, a lot of what u hear is getting old, and some new material would be nice... but hey, if it's got a beat, i dun care if it's from 1993 and they play it on Z every day... i'll hop around to it... haha... The favorites are favorites for a reason.
And not all brizeaks djs are mundane and all - oddmuff has good tracks and is getting better at mixing - then there's trickler crew - nuff said, and I've got some sets that I'll be playing out soon if you like funk, jazz or nu. Velcro has got some tight shiza aswell. All these peeps I'd have to say play kick ass tracks that are aswell not overplayed. markpaul :384: |
