radiohead
fuck, i'm just listening to My Iron Lung off of The Bends.
i love this band, they've been my favourite band for like...um...five years now or so. this is the one band that i can listen to no matter what mood i'm in. anyone else out here got an appreciation for radiohead? anyone get to check out their concert last year in Thunderbird Stadium? it rocked! |

I was absolutely devastated that I didn't get to go to their concert last year but I went to the one before that like 4 years ago.
Radiohead (Portishead comes in close second) has been my favorite band forever, I was first introduced to "paranoid android" when my friend bought me Big Shiny Tunes 2 years and years ago, I have so much appreciation for their music, Thom York is fabulous. I love how innovative they've been with rock and how much range they have, their albums are all so unique in their own ways. PS. I tried to give you karma for this thread but it didn't work. |

I love Radiohead but I must say that no one tops Portishead for me. I would do anything to see them live. Damn being underage when they were here. |

When was Portishead here??!
You're right about Kid A and Amnesiac, both of those albums had a lot of mixed reviews, I think a lot of people were surprised with Kid A because it incorporated a lot of electronic beats. I can't really describe the feel of Amnesiac because every track is so specific in its own way, I find that most people like to be familiar with their surroundings, people and even the music they listen too so that album was just too abstract and unfamiliar for them. |

always pushing boundaries with their direction.. love almost everything they put out.
hail to the thief - tour at t-bird was probably one of my most memorable experience from a concert ever! was in good company, the canadien geese flying overhead when they played "2+2=5". Or when Micheal stripe came out and sang karma police with them. was at the concert in 01 too at t-bird, they opened with The National Anthem was pretty sweet too, was nice to see beta band as well prior to them, something you usually wouldn't see. Then there was the Kid A tour at the agradome.... man that was a journey in itself.. I passed out in the middle of the floor from too much greens and not eating enough, being overheated and a laser hit me right in the eye (the stoned ageeeeee man hah). Next thing I remember I was dragged out by a group of girls who I had gone with, all toothpicks, took 4 of them to drag me out on my ass.. haha next up was the fries and oj and I was alright! Good concert too, played alot of tunes from the bends at this one. quick fact... you know the very first sound you hear at the starting of hail to the thief.. the click pop, fuzz, plug... it's the very first thing they recorded when compiling that album. So they decided to mix it in.. yea im a dork! ciao, Kyle |
