Grateful Dead

Back before raves existed, they and Ken Kesey and a group of acid/methheads known as the Merry Pranksters held what they called Acid Tests, where people would get fucking ripped on drugs and fuck around with instruments and feedback loops and microphones and sound in general, and people would dance and trip out and do many of the other things common to raves and ravers.

Part 2 of DJ Shadow's Diminishing Returns Mix is over an hour of well mixed pyschedelic rock. I couldn't tell you a single track name or group, it's all rarities and stuff Shadow had to dig really deep for, but it's all good music. This mix defines digging.

*coughs* That being said, Flaming Lips is kind of quasi-dreamy-psychedelic pop rock. Some of Pink Floyd's stuff borders on the psychedelic.

those are the only ones that i know of that might be new to you....i think the best psycedellic album of all time is the beatels 'magical mystery tour'....in grade 9 i would just smoke weed all day and listen to that on headphones....hedrix's 'electric ladyland' is also class psycedelia. esp the track
'1983....(a merman i should turn to be)'. that song is just nuts.
