Cant have volcals/dj's talking etc. Classical, dnb, and house acutaly seem to really help keep me focused and on pace.
However when it comes to just reading I cant have ANYTHING distracting me. Then again im pretty sure I have ADHD in that area :( |

I have to do any work that requires some level of thinking in utter silence. I get mad even if someone walks into the same room as I'm studying. Unfortunately, my concentration is easily disrupted, so I have to isolate myself to get things done.
When I'm doing homework (like now) I always subconsciously look for ways to procrastinate so I also have to study in a room with no t.v., no food, and no internet.. which is why I have no internet connection on my laptop :P. I am easily distracted. |

likewise. Techno in general seems to help a bit with my ADD - anything with lyrics, I find myself much more easily distracted, as part of my brain is listening to what someone else is saying. Stompy electronic music seems to become more of a soundtrack to whatever it is I'm trying to focus on at the time.

Acid Jazz, Acid Techno, Psytrance are good reading accompanyment.
No vocal stuff. As much as I love downtempo stuff like Sneaker Pimps, Morcheeba, Massive Attack (the list goes on and on...), I find myself concentrating on the lyrics too much. |

Note to self: Forum posting during work not best idea, as tech meef is more prominent when you have to switch away as the course instructor tends to look at screens.
Either get better at this game, or stop. Sincerely, You. Last edited by ebbomega; Nov 05, 04 at 07:28 AM. |
