Chances are, your fucking up. Sorry, that's the truth.
I've never EVER heard the reason behiend a fucked mix being the mixer. If you are convinced you are not fucking up like a mo fo then try this: Set your pitch at 0% and watch the strobe. If it begins to vary it's the fact that your tables could be a wee bit out. Or Remember, if they sound right in the headphones they could be actually off. |

First, I would check your turntables. If you have tech m3ds, then you can do what ninjaboy suggested (with quartz lock off of course)
but if those mk2s in the picture are what you have, then try setting the pitch to EXACLTY -3, +3, or +6%, and watch the corresponding strobelight for fluctuations. If you set it to 0%, then the quartzlock will kick in and of course it will stay steady then, which won't nessassarily help you figure out if your decks are out of whack. Otherwise, I've found alot of (new) breakbeats to be kind of tedious to get mixed perfectly. Maybe just try cutting quickly between records instead of trying to make long, drawn out mixes between them? It's more fun to cut up tracks than to just fade one to the next anyways. :) |

Definateley not the mixer I have the same set up
I dont like the mixer though theres no mids but its decent for hip hop. Try practicing I don't know how long you have been spinning for but bug the fuck out of the locals here. Ask ninjaboy ask F&K fuck ask me im sure alot of people can give u sum help. Its all bout the ear development and which ones slower which is faster. And you go from there. |

One thing I've found that helps
If you're having a hard time matching a beat... Try this. Its a bit oddball but it works.
Take the headphones off your head. Crook the headphone between your head and your shoulder so theres a triagle-like space between the headphone, your shoulder, and your ear. Crankem up and set the cue so you only hear the other record - turn any cue mixing off. This way you hear your other deck mixed in with the music coming from the speakers, but nobody else does. The cue mix in the headphones can sometimes be miselading. I find that this helps sometimes. =) |
