heh, I already linked that site, but it's buried here: http://www.fnk.ca/board/showthread.p...32#post1150932
There's a few that used to be floating around that are still missing - hopefully he'll get some more up. There used to be an archive run by some guy named hurley that had tons more including a bunch of Shadow, UNKLE, DJ P, and various other DJs that had a lot more mixes but it shut down due to bandwidth issues. I really miss that site :( |

^ all of them :)
My personal favorite is probably the Bombshelter DJs - Live at the Baltic Room mix (it's a massive 2-hour live mix). Groovetech actually had a live video of this set before the site went down. If you aren't that familliar with Z-Trip, I would also recommend the WFNX mix or the Grooveradio mix, but both are pretty lousy sound quality. The Uneasy Listening mixtape he did with P is the tape that really put him on the map, but it's not entirely indicative of his style (probably a lot of P's influence and they were going overboard with the crazy blends) Other good ones include the Seattle Tasty show and the Live at Uprock. The 3-part, 4-deck set with Radar is really good too, but it takes a bit to really get going. One of the best parts of that mix is the little speech he makes on his philosphy of mixing (ishkur clipped it and had it on his site for a while) and some of bits where Radar does his crazy 1-turntable/sampler/making songs and beats on the fly thing but it's more impressive when you see it live than just hearing it recorded. Keep in mind that Z does tend to bust out some of the same routines when he mixes so I wouldn't necessarily recommend listening to a bunch in a row if you don't want to here some of his signature mixes repeated a lot. |

Funny thing is Z-Trip actually denies most of his participation in Uneasy Listening. Says most of the work was actually done by DJ P.
Z-Trip is fucking tight though. His live stuff he's done on his own is fucking ridiculous. Unless he has an MC with him (that's not him). Shut up and let the man do his thing already. |
