Cdj-200
Akeel aren't you usually on top of this stuff? heh
Another CDJ for the budgeters out there. I just might have to pick up one. Pioneer today announces the release of the CDJ-200. Creating a new standard at this price point for Pro-DJ CD decks, the CDJ-200 combines the key elements of Pioneer’s market-proven Professional CDJ players with a host of innovative features such as full-function MP3 playback, Hot Loop, Beat Loop and the unique one button Loop Cutter, for creating loops within loops until the beat has been cut to infinity. This technical excellence is complemented by a design that’s both visually stunning and DJ friendly – the unit is robust, compact and portable – and a truly affordable price, making it the ideal choice for serious home DJs, bars and other installations where space and budget is limited. Since the CDJ-200 is fully MP3-compatible, aspiring DJs can now include the very latest downloaded tracks in their sets, without having to convert the audio from other formats. The MP3 functionality also allows DJs to locate tracks more quickly (via Folder Search) and to see the name of the disc, artist and song on the unit’s bright dot-matrix display window. This screen has a bar graph showing the elapsed and remaining playing time of a track, plus an Auto BPM Counter, giving DJs the real-time information they need to create better mixes more quickly. The unit has a tempo read-out too, as well as a separate Master Tempo button with 3 settings for locking the pitch of a track as it’s sped up or slowed down. "Pioneer needed a stunning yet competitively priced CDJ to replace the classic CDJ 500. This is it!It employs Pioneer's key CDJ technologies along with MP3 and some excellent DJ friendly features. It fits neatly into Pioneer's range - between the CDJ-100 and the more advanced CDJ-800", observes Jason Pook, Product Planning Manager, Pioneer Pro DJ. The unit uses an electric-blue light at strategic locations to give the DJ constant feedback on the status of the CD and the effects in use. The light above the CD-slot, for example, shows that there’s no disc on board and also guides the DJ to the user-friendly quick-load slot. With the disc inserted, that light goes off and a blue illuminated ring appears around the edge of the Jog Wheel - indicating that a CD is loaded and ready for playback. pioneer cdj 200 An established highlight of Pioneer’s Pro DJ CDJ players, the Jog Wheel can be used to speed up or slow down the music, to fine-tune cue points manually, or to control the mix with the help of another proven feature – the Digital Jog Break. This has three effect buttons (Jet, Zip, Wah) for creating original sounds as the DJ manipulates the Jog Wheel. When the Digital Jog Break is on, the blue ring flashes quickly. Once the HOLD/RESET button is used, the flashing slows down. With the effects off, the continuous blue light returns. The CDJ-200 also has a unique Resume function that takes effect if a CD is ejected accidentally. Once the DJ re-inserts the disc, it automatically starts playing from exactly the point where it stopped. The unit has a Digital Out socket too, so that all of the digital features available in DJ Mode can be carried over to a connected digital environment, as well as a headphone jack (with volume control) which allows the DJ to monitor a CD without connecting the CDJ-200 to a mixer or external amplifier. The CDJ-200 will be available from April 2005. The combination of exceptional build quality and advanced features such as full MP3 capability means Pioneer has succeeded in giving DJ’s a durable product, offering a professional solution without the premium price. |

mmmm yes the cdj-200. Once when I am done paying off my other credit card I plan on getting a setup. Been looking at the numark cdx which is most likely what I am going to get... however the cdj-200's look nice and from what I gather they'll be going for about $399 us. Only problem with the cdj-200's though is that they are just pure cdj's and they don't have a vinyl mode unlike the cdj 1000's or the numark cdx. And since the release date for the cdj 200 is for april I'll be keeping a close eye on prices to see if the numark cdx go's down in price because of the up and coming competition. Keep in mind that gemini is also releasing that hybrid class turntable that you can both play vinyl or a cd on 1 unit, so that should also make things alot more interesting. Only other thing is that I know pioneers reputation especially when it comes down to cdj's are absolute ACE and have much respect to that but the numark cdx features with its 12 inch platter, mp3 capability, vinyl mode, etc. seems to be a powerhouse and is so damn tempting to get. We'll see a few months down the road on whats going to be on the market and how much they'll be going for.

this seem's like a very well aesthetical improvment on the 100 which i have always been a fan of, i havent used the dmp-555, but it seems to be really uncommon... as far as serato scratch live is concerned i dont know very much about how well it actually performs, but i know with stantons final scratch version 1.5 its been a dream to use... akeel on sat at its not so random, come a bit early and give it a go... you can scratch with it, probably the same as serato, the only think is nothing too fast... i fear the same is with serato symply because the digital sound off the record moves to fast and becomes too destorted for the computer to recorgnize... but i still love it, the ability to have doubles of everything oin your colection without a. having to have it, or b. having to buy it all josh k. sweet man, i've tried FS1 and it didnt sit well with my scratching. After seeing Jazzy Jeff use serato last thursday though, i was thoroughly impressed, no lags, quick transforms and scribbles and he had no problems. That loop cutter function on the cdj-200 is what has me interested...if it could scratch then I would be sold...but the dmp-555 can scratch...but no loop cutter!!! |

but yeah, fs 1.5 is awsome, no lag nothing... i havent tried fs 2. has alot ALOT of added features, like midi sink and mic inputs and all sorts of crap like that, plus it uses either records or cd's or whatever compination you can think of... i like with fs 1.5 (as well as 2) that you only really need 1 turntable to do everything, 1 deck and a 2 channel mixer and your good to rock any party... i just gotta get new records soon cause mine are a little old and are a little bit warped :( |
