good reggae/dub suggestions
anyone out there know some good reggae? or even some good ska? NOT hip-hop influenced reggae (sean paul, beenieman, etc.) but good old fashion militant "jah-rastahfariiii!!" type stuff
some I know of right now are: marley (of course:P), morgan heritage, lms, capleton |

Ever heard of the Slackers? Not reggae as much as really rootsy ska, but damned if their album "The Question" isn't one of the seminal discs of my life so far. One summer I didn't do much but smoke weed and listen to it.
You can tune into these radio stations for the goods: http://www.bigupradio.com/ http://radio.rightonscales.com/ http://www.blackark.com/ 3 stations that are right up your alley.. you can always just note the artists that you like as you listen :) That last one, Black Ark often only has a really low bitrate stream available, but with this kind of music it seems to matter less than other genres. Cheers! Dave |
